Contemporary Pilates

Pilates has come a long way since the origin of Contrology, Joseph Pilates’ original method, which focused on core strength and spine health. The Classical approach stayed true to Joseph’s teaching, preserving the traditional repertoire and sequence. Contemporary Pilates is a modernized variation to the original work of Joseph Pilates. Taking current evidenced based research, primarily from physical therapy + injury management, to create adaptations of the Pilates method, and in some cases make a whole exercise in itself.
